Spurs Beat Rockets To Close Preseason
- Updated: October 24, 2015
In a meaningless “preseason” version of the I-10 rivalry, the San Antonio Spurs knocked off the Houston Rockets 111-86 in front of 18,059 at the renovated AT&T Center on Friday night. Danny Green had 19 points to lead the Spurs, and hit his first 6 three pointers to set the pace for the Spurs. Lamarcus Aldridge also had 19 for the Spurs as they took a 15 point lead into the 4th and never looked back. The highlight of the night came in the third quarter when Manu Ginobili hit Tim Duncan with a no look pass and slammed it down, putting the Spurs up by 9.
With the win, the Spurs finish the preseason 2-4 and now focus on the regular season opener on Wednesday October 28th at the Oklahoma City Thunder. That game will mark the NBA coaching debut of Billy Donavan, who is the former coach of Florida Gators basketball, as well as the debut of Lamarcus Aldridge as a Spur and the return of Kevin Durant.
